==Appearances== ===~ The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe ~ (1950)=== [[File:3784.jpg|left]]After the arrest of Tumnus, Mr. Beaver finds the four Pevensies wandering in Narnia. After convincing them that he is not an enemy by showing Lucy the handkerchief she had given to Tumnus, Mr. Beaver leads the children to his dam. Mrs. Beaver is busy at her sewing machine when Mr. Beaver walks in with the four Pevensies. She exclaims, "So you’ve come at last! At last! To think that ever I should live to see this day!" After dinner the Beavers tell the children that Aslan is on the move and that there is a prophecy that says when two sons of Adam and two daughters of Eve sit on the thrones at Cair Paravel, the White Witch’s reign will end. The Beavers are discussing their plans to take the four children to Aslan at the Stone Table when they notice that Edmund is missing. Mr. Beaver realizes that Edmund has met the White Witch in Narnia before and has gone to betray them. Mrs. Beaver wisely points out that Edmund will probably tell the White Witch where they are and where they will be going, and that they should leave quickly (though not before packing some important supplies). The two Beavers set out with the three remaining Pevensies for the Stone Table, leaving their dam to be destroyed by the Witch’s Wolves. Along the way they meet Father Christmas, who gives Mr. Beaver the gift of a completed dam and Mrs. Beaver a new sewing machine. The Beavers safely lead Peter, Susan, and Lucy to Aslan. After Edmund is rescued and the battle against the White Witch is won, the Beavers are among the Narnians who celebrate the coronation of the four Pevensies at Cair Paravel. During the celebrations Aslan disappears, but Mr. Beaver comforts the children by telling them that Aslan will often be coming and going. "He’s wild, you know. Not like a ''tame'' lion." ===~ The Last Battle ~ (1956)=== [[File:3774.jpg|left]]Mr. and Mrs. Beaver are there to welcome the friends of Narnia at the final reunion. ==About== Mr. and Mrs. Beaver are Talking Beavers, larger and more intelligent than regular beavers. They are a typical married couple; Mr. Beaver works on their dam while Mrs. Beaver cooks and sews. But their lives are forever changed by the rumors of Aslan’s return to Narnia and the arrival of the four Pevensies. The two Beavers are overjoyed to find the children because it means the prophecy foretelling the end of the White Witch may be fulfilled in their lifetime. The Beavers are excellent guides through Narnia as they elude the Witch’s police and bring the Pevensies to Aslan. When the Witch comes to the Narnian camp to treat with Aslan, Mr. Beaver is not afraid to voice his opinion of her usurpation of the throne. Because of their courage and belief in the prophecies and Aslan, the Beavers are rewarded by seeing the day that two Sons of Adam and two Daughters of Eve are crowned kings and queens of Narnia. ==Quotes== *"They say Aslan is on the move—perhaps has already landed." — Mr. Beaver (LWW, Ch. 7) *"Here we are, Mrs. Beaver, I've found them. Here are the Sons and Daughters of Adam and Eve." — Mr. Beaver (LWW, Ch. 7) *"So you've come at last! At last! To think that ever I should live to see this day!" — Mrs. Beaver (LWW, Ch. 7) *"Aslan a man! Certainly not. I tell you he is the King of the wood and the son of the great Emperor-beyond-the-Sea. Don't you know who is the King of Beasts? Aslan is a lion—the Lion, the great Lion." — Mr. Beaver (LWW, Ch. 8) *"If there's anyone who can appear before Aslan without their knees knocking, they're either braver than most or else just silly." — Mrs. Beaver (LWW, Ch. 8) *"Safe? Don't you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you." — Mr. Beaver (LWW, Ch. 8) *"Well, I'm nearly ready now. I suppose the sewing machine's too heavy to bring?" — Mrs. Beaver (LWW, Ch. 10) *"He’ll often drop in. Only you mustn’t press him. He’s wild,' you know.
