The Witch's Dwarf is a traitor to his people in his service to the White Witch. Though he is the Witch's servant, he does not hesitate to state unpleasant truths to her (such as Aslan bringing the thaw) or mention his own ideas about what they should do (as when he suggests they kill Edmund out of hand to prevent the prophecy from coming true). The Dwarf is not a comic character in the book; rather, his role is sinister and chilling to Edmund as the Dwarf carries out the Witch's bidding. It is clear from his suggestion of killing Edmund that the Dwarf is just as ruthless as his mistress.

[[File:3784.jpg|left]]The Witch's Dwarf is driving the White Witch's sleigh through Narnia one day when they come across Edmund. When the Witch conjures a hot drink and Turkish Delight for Edmund, the Dwarf hands it to Edmund with a wicked grin. Later when Edmund betrays his siblings and returns to the Witch, the Dwarf harnesses the sleigh without bells at the Witch's command and they set off to find the other Pevensies. Along the way the thaw begins and the Dwarf claims it is Aslan's doing. When the melting snow forces them to walk, the Dwarf binds Edmund's hands and forces him to walk quickly by cracking his whip. When they learn that the three Pevensies have joined Aslan, the Dwarf suggests that they kill Edmund immediately to prevent the prophecy from being fullfilled. The Witch agrees, but before they kill him, Edmund is rescued by the Narnians. The Witch turns herself into a tree stump and the Dwarf into a boulder to escape. Later the Witch sends the Dwarf before Aslan to demand a meeting, and Aslan tells the Dwarf that he will meet with the Dwarf's mistress on condition that she leave her wand behind. The Dwarf is most likely among the evil creatures of Narnia who witness the Witch killing Aslan at the Stone Table. It also highly likely that the Dwarf fights in the battle against the Narnians, but his final fate is unknown.
